Yes. Our store has merchant category code 8021, referring to health and medical services, which means you can use your FSA/HSA card at checkout. You can also use a non-FSA/HSA card and submit for reimbursement after purchase. Please email us at support@smileset.com if you would like a personalized form for reimbursement.

Yes. Please email us if you are interested in purchasing multiple sets of retainers. We can offer special discount codes to use at checkout.

At this time we do not bill insurance directly, but we can provide a custom form with the required insurance codes and doctor information so you can submit for reimbursement to your insurance company. You can download an insurance reimbursement form for any retainer order from your account page. You can login to your account at the following link. There is also a link to download your reimbursement form in your order confirmation email. You can also email us at support@smileset.com and we can email you a reimbursement form for any of your orders.

Yes, all payments to SmileSet are fully secure. Whether you use a credit card, PayPal, or another service such as Shop Pay, every payment is encrypted for your peace of mind.

Our retainers cost $199.00, plus any applicable state taxes. Shipping is on us!

You can purchase just the upper or lower arch for $149. The subscription option for your upper or lower arch allows you to receive new retainers every 6 months for $89.40. With this option you receive 40% off immediately, and then 45% off your future subscription orders ($81.95).

Our Aligner treatment costs $1795. We also offer financing options as low as $87.03 a month for 18 months. Our aligners are also eligible for FSA/HSA payments and insurance reimbursement.

There, you can make changes to your payment details, skip an order, or even cancel your subscription completely. Yes! SmileSet offers a convenient way to get a fresh pair of retainers every 6 months. You also get a discounted price when you sign up for a subscription. On your first order you'll get 40% off ($119.40), and on all subsequent subscription orders you'll get 45% off ($109.45). You can also change the frequency of your subscription in your customer portal (i.e. a new retainer every 12 months instead of 6). We also offer the ability to setup a delayed subscription if you don't need a new retainer yet. As an existing retainer subscription member, you can log in to your customer portal via our website at any time. From there, you can adjust any of your payment details, including which card you'd like to use for your subscription payment. Remember to double-check that all your card details are correct before saving your changes.

We use your existing SmileDirectClub file to create retainers that match your beautiful smile. You sign up for our subscription service, provide your payment details, and then receive your new retainers automatically, every six months.

Don't worry: if your payment method fails for your retainer subscription order, we will contact you immediately. We don't want you to be without your retainers. By letting you know straight away, you can adjust the payment method. If your card has expired or there's another problem with it, you can change the payment method in your customer portal or by contacting us. We will then try to take the payment again. Once complete, your retainers will be on their way to you.

You can pay for your recurring retainer subscription using most major credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover, UnionPay, and more. You can also use PayPal, which allows you to utilize any cards or bank accounts you have connected to your PayPal account. Payment is also possible via Google Pay. If you want to spread the cost of your payments, a Shop Pay account may allow you to pay in installments. Alternatively, you can opt for CareCredit, our helpful financing option with flexible terms and a simple application process.

No. We'll use your Smile Direct Club file to create your new retainers, no new impressions needed.

Wear instructions: Recommended wear time is a minimum of 8 hours of continuous wear at night. If this is the first time you're wearing retainers after completing your teeth straightening with clear aligners, we recommend all day wear for the first three weeks – wearing your retainers 22 hours per day. After the first three weeks, your retainers can be worn only at night. When you're not wearing your retainers, be sure to store them somewhere safe. Keep away from pets and children. As a reminder, each set of retainers lasts 6 months before needing to be replaced. Your next set of retainers can be ordered on our website, or you can sign up for a subscription to make it even easier to make sure you get your custom retainers on-time.

Cleaning instructions: Rinse After Use: After removing your clear retainer, rinse it under lukewarm water to remove any saliva or food particles. Avoid using hot water, as it can warp the plastic. Brush Gently: Use a soft-bristled toothbrush and a non-abrasive soap or mild toothpaste to gently scrub the retainer. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they can scratch the surface of the retainer. Soak in Retainer Cleaner: Occasionally, soak your retainer in a retainer cleaning solution or a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar for about 15-20 minutes. This helps to disinfect and remove any stubborn stains. Avoid Hot Water: Never use hot water to clean your clear retainer, as it can deform the plastic and ruin its shape. Regular Maintenance: Clean your retainer at least once a day to prevent plaque buildup and odors. Consistent maintenance will keep your retainer looking and feeling fresh. Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Avoid using harsh chemicals like bleach or alcohol-based mouthwashes to clean your retainer, as they can damage the plastic.

Yes. Please use either the same email address or phone number that you used for your SmileDirectClub account so we can locate your retainer file.

Please use this link to submit a Retainer Fit Questionnaire. Our manufacturing team will review this for you and determine the best option moving forward. If you have any questions, please let me know. Here are a few recommendations we may make: 1. Sometimes retainers will have a point of insertion that works best depending on your anatomy. For your case, I would first try running the retainer under warm (not hot) water for about 30 seconds. From there, I would attempt to snap the retainer in starting from your very back right tooth, working your way forward until you work your way around to the other side. If that does not help seat your retainer, then I would try starting at the very back left tooth, and work your way around. Lastly, you can attempt to seat the retainer on the lower front teeth first. From there, try seating the retainer on the posterior teeth on each side. Just like aligners, it may take a few days to a week of consistent wear for the retainer to start fitting comfortably. I do hope the suggestions above help provide a better fit! However, if not, please feel free to reach out to our and we can discuss other options. At SmileSet, we meticulously trim each retainer set to ensure optimal comfort. However, sometimes additional adjustments may be needed for the perfect fit. I recommend trimming and adjusting the problem area on your retainer slightly to improve its fit. You can use cuticle scissors to carefully trim the retainer and a clean, unused nail file to smooth any rough edges (remember to file in one direction only). Feel free to trim as much material as needed, but make sure the entire tooth surface remains covered.

We cannot fulfill previous SmileDirectClub retainer orders. SmileSet is unaffiliated with SmileDirectClub and is only working to provide retainers on behalf of SmileDirectClub doctors for their patients using their existing retainer file.

If for some reason your new set of retainers don't fit, we'll send out an impression kit free of charge to get the right fit.

No, regular dentist office visits aren't necessary. SmileSet offers doctor-directed aligners with remote care that's accessible from anywhere. We pair you with a licensed dental professional who specializes in tele-dentistry and clear aligner care. A dentist or orthodontist will guide your treatment over two virtual consultations. If you have questions, ongoing support is provided by our dedicated dental team.

The main differences are: Wear time: 10+ hours/night (vs. 22+ hours/day for traditional); Wear schedule: Each aligner is worn for 3 weeks (vs. 2 weeks for traditional); Everything else is the same: same materials, same doctor oversight, same treatment process, same number of aligners.

Establish a daily routine to keep your night guard in good condition. After each use, rinse your night guard with cool water to remove saliva and debris. Avoid hot water, as it can alter the shape and affect the fit of your night guard. Gently clean it with a soft brush and mild soap—toothpaste is too abrasive and can damage it. Dental device cleaning tablets and ultrasonic sanitizers work well for deep cleaning. Be sure to place the night guard on a clean surface and allow it to air dry completely to prevent the rapid growth of bacteria. Smile Studios are our new in-person locations where you can get a quick and easy 3D scan for your retainers or aligners. Instead of using an impression kit, we capture a super-accurate digital scan of your teeth to ensure a perfect fit!

If you are dissatisfied with the fit of your clear retainers, or if your needs have changed and you no longer require them, you may return them for a full refund within 30 days of receipt. You can also return your impression kit within 30 days of receipt. To begin a return, please email us at support@smileset.com within the 30-day period post-receipt, providing your order number and the reason for the return. We will reply with further instructions. Upon receiving the returned retainers, we will process your refund to the original payment method.

In addition to returns, we offer exchanges. Should you need a new retainer due to an improper fit, we will provide a new impression kit at no cost to you and create a new retainer based on your updated dental impressions. To request an exchange, please follow these instructions: 1. Contact us at support@smileset.com within 30 days of receiving your original order. Please specify that you would like an exchange and include the order number for reference. 2. We will send you a complimentary impression kit with instructions to take your new dental impressions. 3. Once we receive your new impressions, we will create and send you a new retainer tailored to the updated specifications. Please ensure that the returned retainers are in the condition you received it in. Our 30-Day Fit Guarantee is valid only if the retainers are returned within this specified timeframe.
