Good Alternative to Traditional Orthodontist
I wanted to straighten my teeth, but over $5K was just not feasible; I checked out a lot of places and settled on SmileSet. I liked that it was relatively easy to do. I had a call with Customer Service to confirm that I was a candidate (I have existing bridge work) and they were friendly and helpful. I like that an actual dentist oversees your treatment plan. What I did not like it how long it took to actually get my aligners once I returned the impression kit (started process in late August; received aligners early October). I hated that I was getting so many texts at the beginning my order, and virtually no communication that my order had been shipped. Getting necessary supplies thru SmileSet is spendy (i.e., aligner cleaning tablets, ultrasonic cleaner, removal hook tool). I went to Amazon and got all these supplies for a fraction of the cost. I am just starting to use the aligners. They are not as comfortable as I had hoped; they are not perfectly laser cut around the teeth/gum line. I have had to file them down several times and it still isn't quite right. I am hopeful that I will get better at this. A good alternative, but not perfect. All the being said, they do fit well over my teeth; I can feel pressure but it's not painful, I can already feel my teeth repositioning - that is the goal, so overall I am cautiously optimistic about the desired outcome.
